Gold Feather Coffee Roasters Wheels Up Blend in Review "Abe Probably Called it a Plug Hat"

“Have you Kaplowitz’d to-day?”

Gold Feather
Wheels Up Blend

ORIGIN: Various

PROCESS: Various

INTENSITY: Medium-Full/Full

Dark chocolate | Savory earth | Trail mix

Big dark sweet-savory. Hey, thanks for coming out. Ok, ok. More. Hm... Dark is smokily-so & earthen around a tight leather core. There's your savory, too. Sweet is a dark chocolate shaving thing that evolves into a dark chocolate velvety Dove bar. More savory, then. Excellent counter-balance along-side of progression. Nutty (salted/roasted) alongside fruits (dried) = trail mix, say?

Black peppery undertones. Some buttered pumpernickle toast. A vague Worcestershire sauce. More earth, top-soil & compost. Lip-smacking manure, in a very good & not gross at all way. Not lacking in character but definitely in humor -- a melancholy brew. The Abe Lincoln of brews. Sinewy, stong, & cloaked in dark heavy fabrics. Its aplomb all gathered under a stovepipe hat. Abe probably called it a plug hat, tho.

So nicely+ balanced, but not much complexity & lesser-nuanced than hoped for. There is that nifty evolution as mentioned but the upper-lip is simply too stiff here. A bit of smoked hickory comes in late and on the back-end. Nothing bad, all good but also mundane. Pedestrian. A solid cup that'll get you where you need to be but offer minimal entertainment en route.
